Our Basketball Legacy
Basketball is where the Cimarrones journey became a professional sporting reality. Since 2012, the organization has built its identity through competition, perseverance and a deep connection with Chocó—creating a platform where athletes could compete, develop and represent the region through professional sport.
Across different seasons and stages of our history, basketball has given Cimarrones the experience required to build teams, face challenges, create opportunities and continue evolving as an institution. It is not simply one of the sports we play; it is part of the foundation on which the future of Cimarrones is being built.
Legacy in Motion
A visual journey through Cimarrones del Chocó — from the Colombian Professional League to the Liga Sudamericana and Colombia’s National Team. A legacy built through competition, development, community and opportunity.
The Foundation for What Comes Next
Basketball gave Cimarrones more than a competitive history. It gave us experience—building teams, developing athletes, navigating professional sport and learning how an institution grows through both achievement and adversity.
That experience remains part of everything we are building today. As Cimarrones expands its vision into talent development, international opportunities and new sporting pathways, basketball remains a fundamental part of our identity and institutional foundation.
